The joy of this couple can be easily understood before you even scroll to the bottom of this post. Marian and I thoroughly enjoyed our time working with them and cannot wait to photograph the upcoming wedding. We chose the Thomas Center and Baughman Center in Gainesville for this shoot and prayed for mild weather for which we got (minus a few bugs). Such a great time.

OK, so I get the bad blogger of the month award but we have really been enjoying a little break between Spring and Fall seasons. An awesome exception to that came when Lynn and Robert asked us to do an engagement shoot last weekend at UF. Normally we shy away from summer eshoots because, well, its insanely hot. To get around that we met at sunrise and while it did not take long for the sun to go from bake to broil, we were having so much fun it really did not matter. It was amazing watching their personalities come to life almost immediately. As usual we stayed away from the cheesy pictures that often come out of shoots like this and really just let them be themselves. For us, that is the best way to turn a posed session into a legit documentary style assignment. This super cool couple was a prime example of that.

Happy to present a selection of images from this happy couple’s engagement shoot. Actually it was two shoots, which we rarely do, because our first attempt was amidst winds that must have been gusting to about 40mph. Not good for the hair! That being said, I think we got some of our best shots that day but still had a chance under normal circumstances (and great light!).
It is awesome in that we have really gotten to know Mark and Kristin and that will really make the big day in October that much more enjoyable.

We had so much fun with this excitable couple that obviously has tons of personality. Spent a recent Sunday afternoon on the UF campus (and stadium) and just let them turn on the charm. We tried to play off her “girly girl” persona while he played the cool and casual guy who loves his sports.
It became quite obvious that this wedding is going to be a blast. They are getting married on the beach in Clearwater in just a few months. Can’t wait!

This sports loving couple was so much fun to work with the day after Thanksgiving. We had shot Lisa’s sister Kelly last year and were thrilled to be invited back for this great celebration.
Spent a couple hours at Kanapaha Park and just had a blast going from place to place. We are completely thrilled about covering this event next year!
Meet our New Year’s Eve couple JG and Maria, they are international travelers and PHD’s to-soon-be. We had a blast last weekend shooting in the garden at Sweetwater Branch in Gainesville, which just happens to be the site of the wedding on the last day of 2009. I love good light and there was plenty of that for this shoot.
We cannot wait to ring in the New Year with this great couple.

I always find it more fun to work with someone I know, especially a fellow photojournalist. Emily Harris is a current wedding photographer from South Florida who graduated from UF and worked with me at one point at the Gainesville Sun. When she contacted me about the upcoming wedding with her beau Aaron, I was more than excited for the opportunity. We hit the stadium the day after the Arkansas game and went for a round of fun shots for their 10-10-10 wedding. Such a great couple and Marian and I are excited for the big day.

With the cooler weather finally pushing south we are getting into engagement shoot season. Kelly and Javier, who are getting married next month in Gainesville, were one of our first for the season. This turned more into a family shoot with their two wonderful children. We had some fun at their new home which should be finished by the end of the year before heading to Kanapaha Park to get some fun posed and candid images of the family. We had a blast and cannot wait till the big day.

Blogging from the media hotel a day before the big BCS Championship. However, I could not wait till after the game to get these posted. We had a blast of a shoot with this fun couple. They have personalities that jump right out for the camera. We started sort of traditionally but quickly just let them be themselves. It worked great. They let us on about a crack in a sidewalk at UF that sort of brought them together initially……..because they both tripped on it. So we went and shot it. Told you they were fun.

This was one of our best ever! We shot at the Thomas Center again but tried to focus on new angles and locations. Marian was on her “A” game with not only her shooting but really led the way with some fun poses. Dan and Ellen were up for everything we threw at them and the results show what a fun-loving personality they both share. This was truly a blast for everyone involved and they are going to have a great slide show at their reception. All I can say is good luck choosing one to enlarge!
