Gators- UF vs Miami (Ohio)

I don’t think this game is what everybody had in mind for the start of a new era. This is a transition year and today’s game proved that although I think this was more opening day jitters than the stinker we all witnessed. No wonder Urban Meyer was ready to call it quits.

When arguably your best player cannot even hike the ball properly you have a problem. Luckily the defense came to the rescue with some points and Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey are still in a class of their own. Take all that out of the equation and this could have been much worse.

Sadly I am not shooting more games till later this season. Simply too much going on and plenty of talent to fill the void. Hope things improve on the field next time I am out there.

Got a nice little sunburn today so I am going to pick some aloe.

Another Saturday, another Gator game. Same sort of great team that is not firing on all cylinders. Luckily they have not had to be great yet. I never seemed to be in the right spot for the big pays but still got some cool stuff. Caught up with ex-gators Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy after the game and check out the shot of my daughter Kathleen who served as our assistant.

Here is some visual candy from the big game in Jacksonville yesterday. Not to whine but it was a long day, about 16-hours. Was not able to hang with Marian and the kids which was a real bummer but was a great game and I find nobody ever wants to hear me cry about being stuck on the sidelines. Truth be told I wish I could have gone trick or treating with my son Ryan who went as Darth Vader this. A kid after my own heart.

Football- Gators vs Razorbacks

OK, I get the bad blogger of the month award. End of summer is our “off” season for weddings but we are back on track this weekend with a great event along with many engagement shoots we are working on. Exciting stuff!

Just to update, I have been teaching my class at UF and we are already past the halfway point. It has been great and my students are noticeably improving so that makes it all worth it. We are closing on our home in Hawthorne next week and closing on a new, much bigger home in Gainesville. We are on cloud nine because it will have an expansive office and studio. Much more to come later.

As far as the game, it was not pretty at all. Mistakes all over the field. That being said, UF pulled one out that they should have lost. The outcome could have been much worse but I will predict this being the wake up call that gets the team fired up for the rest of the season.

Only time will tell.

It would be easy to say its a new year for Florida football but this is THE year, the biggest yet and possibly the biggest for many years to come. The Gators are stacked, Tim Tebow is out to set his legacy and nobody else has moved up to the orange and blue stratosphere.

Saturday was a tune-up for whats to come. Even though the Gators have some cupcake teams to start, the SEC East schedule is brutal. They will be challenged week in and week out.

My offering is visual and not speculative but I can assure you this year will be a thrill ride. I am on board for most of the games. Hope you enjoy the images!!

Bad day to forget the rain coat!

I was just thrilled to see numerous replays on TV showing me in the garbage bag I had to wear to stay dry (not very dry). It was a game with tons of actions and big plays but not much of a “real” game.

The tuneups are over and the Vols roll through town next week. It is always the first test of the year.

Funny thing as most of my better pictures include Tim Tebow. Without him the Gators might not have pulled off the ten point victory. The crowd gave Lane Kiffin all they could but I think he left with a smile on his face after raising the bar so high for a lopsided Florida victory that eventually turned into a squeaker.

Next week is at Kentucky and I will not be traveling.

5th Grade Inauguration

It is an amazing thing to share a moment of history through the eyes of a child. I had an assignment today to shoot a 5th grade class at a local elementary school as they watched the presidential inauguration.

I did not hear much of the speech but I saw a sense of hope and pure excitement that cannot be denied when you see these images. This is a class that has followed the election from the beginning so they were aware of the historical moment.

Well, what can I say except- It’s Great To Be A Florida Gator!

This was a crazy game but that is why they call it a championship. I was in the right spot for many of the most memorable plays and I am happy to post them here. I could give you all sorts of analysis but hey, that’s what the newspaper is for (hint hint). I will say this- the Gators are very fast, they are coached down to the shoelace and they have the most exciting player in all of college football. If he decides to come back for his senior year he will have the chance to become the most decorated player ever.

Got to say that this town has gotten pretty spoiled with championships. It is almost routine. Regardless, ESPN had a big series last year where they decided what town is truly Titletown. I think the winner was Valdosta Georgia. Yeah right!
