Brush Fire- Marian

As most of you know, I am the newspaper guy in the family but a nasty brush fire popping up in Hawthorne left me 30 minutes away and Marian the closest shooter. Because she knows all the back roads Marian was able to avoid the police road blocks and get close to the action.

I dispatched one of our photogs from the newspaper who was promptly stopped by the cops and sent to the command center. This meant it was all up to Marian and she kicked butt. While I was a bit nervous about how close she was getting, I was happy with the results and glad she could get the adrenaline rush that comes with shooting spot news.

We ran her photos on the front page of the paper and published a gallery on the website.

Football- Gators and &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#039;Noles

I am posting this before my socks are even dry. This was a wet one for sure but even though it was kinda miserable on the sidelines, it made from great visuals.

The Gators were hot again with the 45-15 win against FSU. Looks like Harvin is hurt but Demps and Rainey seem to equal one Percy so maybe it will be OK. Next week is for all the marbles against #1 Alabama. I will be there. Should be a great game. Nobody has been able to even be a speed bump to the Gators since their lone loss. We shall see how good they really are.

Football- UF vs Citadel

May 22, 2008 – 11:21 pm

As expected, Florida put a bulldog beat-down on The Citadel today. With Texas Tech losing to Oklahoma we shall see if the gators move up a spot in the BCS. No matter what, if Florida wins out they should grab a spot in the Orange Bowl.

This was a great game for me as I had lots of plays come my way. Very happy with the results.

Football- Gators vs Bama

May 7, 2008 – 9:50 pm

This game ended up being everything it was hyped to be……..a game for the ages. There were some nail biting moments and big plays alike.

Tebow had the look of a mad man out there and everyone noticed. He was not going lose this game. I am not sure how he does not repeat as the Heisman winner this year. He might not have the numbers but he sure has grit, toughness and determination.

No matter who you root for, you gotta wish for more Tim Tebows in this world.

Looks like I am going to another BCS Championship. It’s an amazing experience for sure. Can’t think of a better matchup for the title.
